I got great value for my money at Villa De Maria. The room was immaculate and the amenities were just what I needed. The location was convenient with bakeries and restaurants nearby. The owner, Maria, was absolutely lovely and went out of her way to help me with recommendations and suggestions.
The breakfast menu could have been more varied.

Super helpful and knowledgeable owner who provides great tourism tips. Fresh tree-tomato juice and free bananas for breakfast. Convenient location with cheap public transportation options.
Weak Wi-Fi and only cool water for showers. Dog barking can be disruptive during sleep.

Stayed here for a romantic getaway and loved it! the owners really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, from offering refreshing drinks upon arrival to even giving us a slice of cake later on. the internet connection was reliable and we enjoyed the convenience of being near the bus station. Plus, the value for money was excellent, allowing us to stretch our budget even further.
the 11pm curfew seemed restrictive and made us feel less free. Lastly, the fan in our room didn't provide enough cooling, resulting in sweaty nights and a sore throat.

I recently stayed at a charming little spot in Guayaquil and had a great experience. One thing that stood out to me was the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the place. The host, Maria, was genuinely lovely and made sure that I had everything I needed during my stay. The hostel itself was clean and simple, and located in a safe neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Although the taxi drivers had some trouble finding the place, Maria provided a useful map to help navigate. I highly recommend this place for anyone on a budget who is looking for a calm and homie environment.
